Why is a flight from Houston, Texas shorter than from LA, CA to Quito, Ecuador??
Pardon my ignorancy, but I would think that it be faster flying from LA to South America since all your going is south. Please explain why it's faster to fly out from Houston!

The only thing I can think of right now is the number of stops a flight would have to make. Perhaps one trip is more direct than the other, so even though it should be shorter it is not. If that's not what you are talking about sorry...

Ecuador is just a bit southeast of Texas. To come from LA you'd have to fly farther east.

Also routing isn't direct even when it seems like it should be.

How long is the flight from Houston, TX to London, England
How long is the flight from Houston, TX to London, England?
I can't figure it out on our itinerary becaus of the time change... So...it says we leave Houston at 4:30pm on one day, and arrive in London on the same day at 7:40am. I understand that we gain a day because of the time change, but because of it all, I can't figure out how long the flight is. Help? :)

Approximately 8 1/2 hours from Houston to London. And - if you get a good jetstream behind you so much faster! Actually made it from Los Angeles to London in about 10 hours, landed 2 hours earlier than we were supposed to. Have fun!!

The CONTINENTAL AIRLINES flight that leaves Houston at 430pm and arrives in London at 740am is 9hours and 10mins long.

according to cheap tickets if you do not have a stop it would be 2.5 hours. I am not sure what time zone you are in thought For example: If you Depart houston at : 7:00am You would Arrive in Chicago at : 9:29am Have a safe trip! Hope this helps!

depends if you fly non stop or fly via europe

about 2 1/2 hour flight no layover

that will depend on the speed of the plane actually. that will also depend if it is nonstop or with a connection. ex: if it's nonstop it will probably just take you 2hrs 45mns and this is flying from iah-ord. if it has a connection about 4hrs 23mns but then that will also depend to which city you will be connecting to. ;) hope this helps!
