My flight connects in Houston, Tx and I have my visa to be in the United States but my friend do not have any visa to be in the U.S. Does he needs something special to be in the airport waiting for our flight???

No, not unless he leaves the secure area of the airport. Where are you coming from that you would connect in Houston en route to Spain?

Your question is a little unclear so please pardon me if this is an insult: If your friend lives outside the US, he needs a visa to catch a connecting flight in the US. If your friend lives in the US illegally, he will need a visa to get back into the US.

The USA suspended the "Transit Without A Visa" program after 9/11. Now, anyone who needs a visa to enter or visit the USA needs one to transit the USA: http://www.skyteam.com/about/travelhelp/travelinfo.html http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/temp/temp_1305.html Good luck!
