turbulence happens when the plane flies through warmer air.. so you can never be sure, thats a long flight and i guess you'll get your share of turbulence. theres a pill you can get that helps calm down the stomach and hard candy always helps.

I flew from Alaska to Germany, but we stopped in Seattle, and then Minnesota. And from Minnesota I flew to Amsterdam and then to Berlin. I didn't think it was bad at all, flying over the ocean wasn't bad. So I dont think it will be bad

Unlikely to even be noticeable. It is worse crossing mountains and coasts but you don't have many of these. make sure they take a travel sickness pill before the flight and follow the package instructions.

don't worry the flight captain will avoid turbulence as much as possible

There is absolutely no way to predict in advance what the level of turbulence might be when you fly. It depends completely on the weather at the time when the plane passes over any particular place. However, turbulence is rarely more than a random shaking and bumping of the plane. IT usually does not last very long, and the captain will try to avoid the area of turbulence if it is possible. If your cousins are really concerned, they could take some dramamine or other motion sickness prevention tablets an hour or so before the plane is going to depart. Good Luck, I hope you have a smooth flight and a great time in London.

Some areas are more susceptible to turbulent winds although they cannot be predicted, they can most certainly be always a bit more prevelant in certain areas. Unfortunately, the British Isles are one of those places. I flew from Detroit to Germany last month and experienced quite a bit of turbulence over the British Isles. The lady sitting next to me even told me this prior to us flying over England. She was a business woman that made very frequent trips to Germany (which requires air travel over Great Britian) and she said it was like that every time. So besides that one area, my trip was very smooth. There really is nothing to worry about though.
