My family and I went from Washington, D.C. to London on British Airways and they served chicken for dinner, yogurt and fruit for breakfast, and pretzels/peanuts for snack. They also had water, juice, soda, tea, and coffee to drink. Have fun and take earplugs if you are sleeping!

It tends to be the standard chicken or beef/fish Fayre. A good trick to avoid the standard conveyor belt food is to order a special meal. Most airlines offer different styles of vegetarian or vegan meals, Kosher, Halal, Dairy free and so on. Those meals are normally prepared on a far smaller scale and tend to be slightly better. Also they often are loaded last, so you have your meal first while it is still hot. I always order a vegetarian meal. Speak to you Travel agent about it or contact your airline.

Find a nice deli in the airport.
