Is it better to connect a flight through Houston or Denver?
Which is easier to find whats going on? which is more fun? i guess which one has a mall or something to entertain myself for a few hours. I am also guess that the connects are the major airports in those cities. thank you.

depends on when you're flying and which houston airport you're going through. this time of year I would suggest Houston because the likelihood of a weather delay is significantly reduced.

Most carriers are showing the fare at about $300 to $350. this seems high to me. Try Shermans travel or the travel section of American express for cheaper fares. And always give southwest a look!

It depends: When are you flying? FYI the cheapest itinerary is almost always Saturday to Tuesday. Also, try to avoid holidays if you can, as these are high-demand times and the prices are almost always higher. It also depends on WHEN you book your tickets. If booked months in advance you can save up to $100 on the airfare in total. If booked a week before the departure date, the airline is then clear that you're desperate for a ticket and will almost certainly jack the price up way higher than it would normally be. Also, check on craigslist.com in your area to see if anyone is selling vouchers they've received from the airlines. There's almost always someone trying to get rid of a Southwest voucher out there, and if you can get your hands on one, you'll likely get it for less than face value. You might even trade something you don't need for it..and get it for free. Lastly, try one of the following websites. Each will list the best fares they're receiving from the airlines and lay them out very clearly for you. Keep in mind, however, that these sites do not project Southwest flights...don't ask me why. Depends when you go. I checked Farecompare for you, which shows the current prices between 2 airports for the upcoming 11 months. It shows there's a great sale if you can fly in May, only $178 round trip, total with taxes and fees, for nonstop flights with USAirways. Best and cheapest to book direct from http://www.usair.com http://www.farecompare.com/fare-search/year.html?destination=PHL&s=r&t=r&departure=HOU&type=homepage2#Select_Month -- cool site lets you see fares and sale history, plus sign up for sale alerts with just your email address.

How can I get a free upgrade from coach to 1st class on my Continental flight from Houston to El Paso
How can I get a free upgrade from coach to 1st class on my Continental flight from Houston to El Paso.?
I'm not a one pass member and don't have any miles. Is there a way to still get an upgrade? Thanks so much!

On a flight that short I wouldn't worry about getting upgraded, you'll barely have time for a drink. Plus, it's pretty hard to get an upgrade without using frequent flyer miles and especially if you're not a member of their frequent flyer program. Why don't you join their program? I'm sure you can do it online and it doesn't cost anything.

Just be polite with a smile on your face and ask if there are any upgrades going that day. They can only say no, but sometimes they say yes. Staff at airports have to put up with a lot of abuse some days from disgruntled passengers. If you are polite it can go a long way.

In addition to the above dress appropriately for business class if you dress like a bum like I do when travelling you can be sure that you are NOT going to get an upgrade. Next best thing is to ask for an exit row at the ticket counter or at the gate sometimes you can luck in with a bit of extra leg room.

Houston to El Paso is a pretty busy business route even though it is not a long flight. You'll be competing with a lot of frequent fliers for the upgrade so don't get your hopes up. The best you can wish for is a discounted, paid upgrade, probably $50 for a flight that short. But even that is unrealistic. Face it, if the airline is going to give anyone a free upgrade, they are going to start with their frequent fliers who have Elite status cause those are the guys spending all the money. Then they will move on to the frequent fliers who have no status, and that is very rare--- they would rather fly with empty seats in First than upgrade someone who doesn't do a lot of business with them. So you can ask nicely and dress nicely and come up with a line about it being your birthday or something and you're still in the back of the plane.

Direct Flight from Houston to St Thomas
Direct Flight from Houston to St Thomas?
I am moving very soon, but I am having trouble finding a direct flight from Houston to St Thomas. This is important because my dog will be coming and I need a direct flight if at all possible. So far, I have only found direct flights from Albany or North Carolina. Any ideas where I could find if any airline goes from Houston to St Thomas directly?

I'm 100% sure there is not such an animal....try Spirit from Dallas via Ft Lauderdale, or Delta via Atlanta DO NOT EVER book thru San Juan......it's a nightmare transferring to the American Eagle shuttle and I don't know if the dog will end up with you........ and you didn't say what yo meant by soon..all airlines have a cut of point for animals traveling as cargo..heat on the ramps in the summertime....so check that out.....
