Something to do...books, puzzles, music. Usually the airline provides a little 'care package' with a toothbrush, toothpaste, headphones for movies, ear plugs, and a mask for sleeping. You should take your glasses case, contact solution, and a contact case if you wear them...but remember that liquids can only be 4 ounces and must be in a ziploc bag.

Laptop, portable gaming system, ipod, magazines, books, anything to occupy that time. I currently live in Houston so if you are headed this way anytime soon it is currently 80 degrees here. The low for the weekend is said to be between 70 - lower 60's.

Book Word search Crossword Some type of small game Stationary and a pen Deck of cards Lap top Scrap booking cards you've made that need colored with marker.... Crochet ( I wouldn't bring knitting) Embroidery (I'd pre inquire about the needle) Cross stitch ^^^^ Journal Brochures on the area you are visiting Tweezers and a small mirror Anything that you need to catch up or find of interest small enough to carry and still legal for the plane. Any small item if interest you can take on the plane. **reading other post after.....just wanted to add.... How thoughtful CRYSTAL to add the current weather!!! Have a Wonderful day!

Best Flight from Houston, TX to London, England within' the next 4 years

Best Flight from Houston, TX to London, England within' the next 4 years?
I have 4 years to come to England whenever I want for a week. I actually don't care how I get there, or when I get there, I just need to get there for under $300 roundtrip. So if your a travel agent I need your help, this is going to be a challenge. Does anyone know of a website that will find the best deals from one place to another that are this flexible with dates?

Not to dash your hopes, but just a reality check ... No travel agent is going to touch a $300 transatlantic airfare that doesn't pay any commission, without first charging you a $50 service fee. Also, $300 from Houston is not realistic anymore. Maybe $300 + all the taxes, but the taxes add $80 (APD) + about $120 in misc. fees (security, landing and takeoff, customs, etc.) + $120 to $160 in fuel surcharges, depending on airline = $320 to $360 just in taxes, fees, and surcharges. If you find a $500 total out-the-door roundtrip Houston-UK, rest assured it's the lowest it will ever possibly be again. I recommend you jump on anything below $600 if you really want to go. You've got 4 more years to save up the extra cash. Here's what it looks like now for the upcoming 10 months: http://www.farecompare.com/search/year.html?departure=HOU&destination=LON&p=1

$300 r/t ???are you joking???? I see it more like $3,000 in 4 yrs. Just a coast-to-coasr r/t in U.S. is over $400.00 today.

According to Continental Airlines, it is about 13-14 hours or 4,500-5,000 miles! (flight is with stops)

The best flight takes 12-1/2 hours. You spend three and a half hours going from Houston to Newark, two hours and a quarter hours on the ground in Newark, and six and three quarter hours between Newark and Dublin. Time in the air is between ten and eleven hours, but stopovers in Newark can range from two to twelve hours. Most of it hinges on this one flight that leaves Newark at 7PM and arrives in Dublin at 6:55AM (don't forget the time difference). Yes, I only checked Continental.
