If I am a Russian citizen, with a Canadian Visitor Visa, with return flight through the USA, do I need a visa

If I am a Russian citizen, with a Canadian Visitor Visa, with return flight through the USA, do I need a visa?
I am visiting my daughter in Canada, and have a return flight through Houston, back to Russia. As a Russian citizen, spending no more than 5 hours in the Houston airport, do I require a transit visa?

sounds like what you REALLY require is a better Travel Agent!!! Just sayin'... @

I recommend checking with the US Department of State for a definitive answer. That said, the gate area of most international airports is "international territory". As long as you STAY in the international gate area, you technically never enter the US.

I dont think you need a visa becaous you are not entring in united state. you are just changing the planes or waiting in the lounge. you can call your air carrier and confirm with them.
4 :
You need a C-1 visa, which allows direct and continuous travel through the United States. The "Transit Without Visa" classification was abolished after 9/11. The other posters are incorrect.
5 :
yes you do and it can take a long time to get an interview at the US embassy JUST to get a visa. what Stan said is right.

depends on where in Mexico

If you are going to the Yucatan Peninsula, yes, but if you are going to pretty much anywhere else, maybe or no. For example, Mexico City... you'll spend a little time over the Gulf because it is the most direct route to Houston. Mazatlan... no. Check a map to see what I mean. Most flights to Mexico from here are point to point (although AeroMexico uses the hub and spoke method).

Depends where in Mexico you are going. If you are going to Can Cun you do go over the Gulf.
4 :
a lot of airlines fly along the coast of texas before they get over mexico
5 :
Depends on where you are going to visit. You can either go over Gulf, Caribbean or Pacific.

7 :
Generally, it only takes 30 seconds, but that's if there are no layovers, and the time machine is set to max power. Consult your handbook and make sure you use a surge protector.

About 3.5 hours from Philadelphia.

why not?

How do you know which aircraft will be the one dispatched??? If there is a safety issue they will either fix it or substitute an another aircraft,
3 :
Hello, The airlines are run by smart people. I'm sure they've dispatched another aircraft to accommodate your flight. You'll want to check your flight status via the airline's website to make sure. In most cases during re-routes airlines have backup aircraft able to take over another's flight line in the event that it gets messed up. It's just all part of airline operations. Happy flying!
