Need help deciding on a flight! Houston and Cleveland layovers??
I am trying to book a flight from Buffalo to Puerto Vallarta. I found two different ones in my price range... they both have two layovers. One flight has two 45 minute layovers and gets me in Puerto Vallarta at 1pm. The second flight has two 2 hour layovers and gets me in Puerto Vallarta at 5pm. I prefer the flight with the short layovers because I get to Puerto Vallarta earlier, but I don't want it to be too risky missing my connection. Especially since I don't want to be stuck at the airport for hours since flights to Puerto Vallarta are few and far between. The short layovers are in Cleveland and Houston. Is 45 minutes enough to maneuver between gates at those airports? The airline is Continental.Any advice is appreciated!!

I know you're eager to get to your destination as quickly as possible, but I'd go with the two 2-hour layovers. With two 45-minute layovers - even if your flights were on time - I highly doubt your baggage could make it to Puerto Vallarta when you do. They'd probably arrive a day or two later, simply because it's not likely that the baggage handlers will rush to ensure they get on your specific flights. No matter which flight plan you choose, pack some clothes and basic (travel-sized) toiletries in your carry on....just in case.

This past week I had a 42 minute layover and I made it on time. Also all my luggage made it with me. So if I were you I would take the 45 minute layovers. You would get there early meaning you would have more time to settle in. If you are worried about luggage and everything then take the 2 hour layover. Continental is good about getting your luggage to you. Have fun in Puerto Vallarta. Hope this helps

If it is tablets put in your mouth and as the hostess for a drink of water to swallow them down! seems obvious to me

Pills, tablets, etc. are not an issue. For liquid medications, bring your prescription record or a letter from your doctor, make sure they are 3 oz or less (if the container is larger separate a qty less than 3 oz) and put it in a clear one quart plastic bag along with your 3 oz-or-less creams or liquid toiletries.

You should have all medication in it's origional bottle with pharmacy lable. Keep all meds together (I carry mine in a large clear zip top bag). Liquid meds do not have to follow the 3.4oz or less rule and can be taken in larger quantites on the plane in the US (I'm not sure what the rules are for the UK). When you get to the security check point, declare any liquid meds you have to the screeners. You will need to remove the liquid meds from your bag and place them in a bin to go through the xray machine (this is where having them all together in one plastic bag comes in handy) for inspection. Depends on the airline. Some allow up to 3 checked and 1 carry on. But some allow more or less. Just depends. It should show on the air lines website.

Well from California to Washington DC it was nothing over 50lbs. That was for each suite case, which you could only check in two, and carry on your purse and one small bag. And everyone said this was pretty standard all around the states!

1 carryon bag + 1 personal item like a purse or briefcase. The size of the carryon varies by the airline. You can usually find this on their website. For instance, they might tell you 44" total. That would be length + width + depth of the bag. Also, you can take a jacket. Just slip it on if they give you any grief (never happens).
