Hurrican Gustav is coming.. Will it affect my flight leaving Houston on Sunday?
I've read that it's expected to hit the gulf on the 31st - will it be close enough to delay my flight? I'm flying to Amsterdam, so the plane will probably head east/northeast. Any thoughts?

You will probably be OK because Gustav is predicted to still be a long way from the USA on Sunday. http://www.weather.com/maps/news/atlstorm7/atl7projectedpath_large.html?from=hp_news However, you need to call the airline and the airport to ask about their plans. Airports sometimes close up to 24 hours before a hurricane is predicted to even start affecting local weather and you don't want to be caught by that. Airlines allow passenders to change their trip plans without penalty when weather events may disrupt air traffic. You may want to depart on Saturday to eliminate to chance of a problem. Good luck!

For a one way ticket - Houston - New York (JFK) - Germany (BER) The cheapest price I could find is: $916, all taxes included, for one person, one way. This is on US Airways/LOT Polish Air, and it can be purchased on Orbitz or Cheaptickets for this price. Check out kayak.com for yourself! Have a good flight!

why would you do this, when Lufthansa flies nonstop from Houston to Frankfurt? Right now, cheapest about $460 roundtrip + taxes = about $800 total

Cheap flight from Houston to either Atlanta or Charlotte, NC
Cheap flight from Houston to either Atlanta or Charlotte, NC?
I need to go to spartanburg, sc in either the first week or july or sometime in august and i know atlanta and charlotte are the best places to fly into. but does anyone know of some websites or deals that are even better than what the normal travel websites are showing? i need a good deal! thanks!

southwest air is running summer flight specials....you can get a one way flight for 49 bucks if you book early!!!

I searched from IAH and Hobby to GSP, CLT, and ATL, and also to AVL (Asheville), CAE (Columbia, SC), and AHN (Athens, Georgia) since these are all as close or closer than just Charlotte or Atlanta. For first week July, best available currently are $280rt total to Atlanta on Delta and Airtran. Next-cheapest city is Asheville at $312 total with USAir; CLT $346 USAir.
